GTWD Is Going GIS!

GTWD has kicked off a Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping project that will continue over the next several months.

During this project, GTWD field personnel will locate and mark water system facilities, including:

• Water meters (flags)

• Valves (paint)

• Fire hydrants

• Water mains

As assets have been marked, CHA Consulting engineering personnel will follow to collect location data and photograph the interior and exterior of each flagged meter pit. CHA will then remove the meter flags after the information has been collected.

We ask that residents please do not remove the meter flags, as doing so will require GTWD personnel to relocate and remark the meters.

Both GTWD and CHA personnel will be operating clearly marked company vehicles displaying company logos.
